The Ghostbusters: Cold War Edition
Mentorship Project — Directed by Colin Fix, Principal Concept Artist at KIXEYE
What if Ghostbusters was born in the atomic age?
Reimagined through 1950s Cold War paranoia, this mentorship project recast paranormal science as classified warfare. Proton packs became reactor prototypes; ghosts stood for radiation and ideology gone rogue.
Each design blends noir realism with pulp invention, chrome suits, bakelite gauges, and bureaucrats battling the unseen. From Soviet cyborgs to bio-weapon werewolves, the world sits between propaganda film and fever dream.
Created under Colin Fix’s guidance, the project explores how cinematic world-building can rewrite nostalgia through history, psychology, and design.
